Vasseur Excited to Use “Machine” Hamilton and Exploit His “Main Difference” at Ferrari

Fred Vasseur, Ferrari’s Team Principal, has expressed his excitement about working with Lewis Hamilton, as the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion prepares to join the Italian team ahead of the 2024 season. Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari, which was confirmed before the start of the season, sent shockwaves through the motorsport world and signaled the end of his decade-long partnership with Mercedes.

The 39-year-old Brit, widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in F1 history, will start a new chapter with Ferrari after securing the bulk of his career successes with Mercedes. His illustrious tenure at Mercedes, beginning in 2013, has seen him break numerous records, including the most wins, pole positions, and podium finishes in the sport’s history. Hamilton is still chasing an elusive eighth World Championship title, which would surpass Michael Schumacher’s record.

As Hamilton nears his final six races with Mercedes, Vasseur has highlighted what he believes is the “main difference” between Hamilton and the rest of the F1 grid. According to Vasseur, Hamilton’s experience, consistency, and relentless drive set him apart, earning him the nickname “machine” for his precision and ability to deliver at the highest level year after year.

For Vasseur and Ferrari, Hamilton’s arrival represents a significant boost to their efforts to return to championship contention. The team hopes to leverage his vast knowledge and skill to extract maximum performance from their car and challenge for titles once again.
